Chrome Strike Through Line Fix
Strike Through Line Problem
I noticed my links in various sites, namely YouTube and bookmarking sites, had strike throughs appearing in them.
Since I had just loaded some extensions in Chrome and that was the browser I was using, I did some digging and found the answer on the Crome forum.
Strike Through Line Solution
The culprit is the SEO Quake extension. If you select the Highlight no-follow option or if it is on by default, you will find links with strike throughs in your returns.
The way to solve the problem is to click the option, turn it off, refresh and the strike throughs will disappear.
This applies to Chrome on a mac or pc. I have both and solved the problem on both machines with this action.
So there you have it. If you are using SEO quake on a mac or pc, turn off Highlight Nofollow.
Check out my video Chrome Strike Through In Link Fix, if you want to see how to do it.
I hope this is helpful.
May Your Travels Be Prosperous.

True to your word. It’s fixed. Thanks!
Can you please elaborate in non-technical way what does “no-follow” mean? Thanks
When your page links to another page, it can give the target page some link authority if the your page has a higher page rank. With nofollow website owners tell search engines that a particular link or page does not confer credit to the target site. It is a way of determining who you want to give authority to. It helps to prevent spammers from getting authority or whomever you decide is not worth of your rank juice. In wordpress there is a setting you can click that will put the nofollow attribute in the code for a page and allows you to control who you give link juice to.
Thanks for the help. Worked.
Could you please tell me how to uninstall SEOquake toolbar? I am so beyond frustrated with it and i just want it off. I have a mac so i use safari and i haven’t been able to find a solution to this. Thanks!
Hi Kellie – In Safari try going to your Safari tab, select Preferences in the drop down, go to the extensions tab and click it. There should be a list of all your extensions. Select SEOquake and uninstall. Let me know if this works. Best wishes.
