Affiliate Starting Line

June 9 Tuesday

Working on setting up a whole sales system with product blog and all that goes with it. Found Rosalind Gardner’s handbook and will try that out as my lead product. Have a list of great back up products and tips to use on the product specific site. Will transfer some articles and other stuff along the way. Will keep you all posted. Hot as hell today but things are nice and cool in my basement office. The dog likes it down here. He didn’t want to set foot outside. I’ll keep grinding away. Feel the need to write an article. I really like what I’m doing.. now if I could only make a living! Ha ha. Ciao

Two more weeks in newbie paradise

June 3 and I’m still cranking along to get some resell activity going. It’s been a real pain on the learning curve. Am still working on getting going on Hostgator with files that aren’t uploading the way they are supposed to. We’ll see how it works out. Next task is to put out a couple of articles. I can’t believe it’s been almost a week that I last posted. I’ve got some catching up to do. Well I am working on another article. This one will go through some of the tools you need to set up your business. For openers you need to find a system or idea you can believe in. Right now I’ve been taking the Affiliates Cash Secrets tutorial on setting up an affiliate resale business. It’s been work to follow it because it takes not just understanding the products you offer but also picking up the tools you need. For example, I selected an autoresponder (aweber), FTP transfer software, a Hosting site, an HTML editor, upgraded Paypal, text editing software, and a host of other stuff that come up when going through the tutorial. Some of it is free but the best stuff you pay for so you really have to be commited to doing the Affiliate marketing business.

Anyway I haven’t written my article this week so that is what the week end will be for along with going over stuff I learned and also looking for some resale product. That’s another thing…I signed up for a resale service and bought WINRAR a piece of compression software.

All in all a productive week but there’s alot more to go so I’m off to do some writiing.

Today

I went back to Site Build it and began keyword research. Noticed Google Adword has been redesigned from a couple of weeks ago. I need to proceed with greater speed to get some business going. So I’ll be moving on getting a site concept defined sooner rather than later.

New Week

I am going to write about information overload in setting up the business. You have to know when it’s time to set out and go for a walk when things start to blur. Whether it’s learning how to use another tool or researching an article or just plain trying to focus on getting the list done for the day. There is alway a distraction that throws things off.

I picked up NVU to do some HTML editing. That is taking a chunk of time and I didn’t get my writing done. I’m moving on two fronts with so when one program gets on overload, I move to the other for a change of pace. So far that means moving more slowly but at least it gives me the time to let things sink in.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Keep on trucking

Today I found a site for resell and master resell rights. I don’t know yet how good all the products are but I’ll soon find out. It has decent customer service because paypal wasn’t processing it until I got a link from customer service that processed the $12.50 monthly subscription. I’m waiting to get in and try out the resell process on a tutorial I’m taking.

Getting through the tutorial will tell whether I can make some income with ACS or not. We’ll see.

Off to cruise the forums.

Another day in paradise

As Phil Collins puts it, it was another day getting things together. Found a site for resell and master resell products recommended by Brian. It only took me 8 passes to get signed up for it. Some of the stuff on the Web is so bush league. I’m trying this resell process to see if it brings anything. I have my doubts but we’ll see. I’m going to cruise some forums to see what I can find out.

End of Week 5-16 A Friday

We are making some headway. It is astounding how claims that a newbie could be up and running in a few minutes,hours or days can be made. I started my journey on March 27 with Affiliates Cash Secrets and have been making progress but it takes a hell of alot more time and money than most people realize.

First of all there are the tools needed to get going. Autoresponder software, article software,html editor,ftp software, hosting site, domain registre site, set up with cash affiliates, list building service (I’m working on that) not to mention the periodic cross sell on some product that distracts and makes you waste time from focusing on getting the fundamentals down. And that is only the beginning…then you have to buy resell rights, that’s another site with a monthly fee and flash and video …another monthly fee… meanwhile there’s no cash flow yet……

The only thing keeping me going is the determination to make a business out of this. But you have to want to do it.

So now I’m off to get a product to resell and see what happens.

The week is getting interesting

Things are moving forward as the product development learning curve is being climbed. Spent time learning about front end and back end sales. Will be setting up a site and will be moving into list building mode. I’ll be writing about lists and resales once I know what I’m up on the details.

Finally starting to make sense

Looking to go to a start up mode now that the fog is beginning to lift. It’s just hard to place all this stuff in the right place in so short a piece of time. Next week some training will start to get things going in a real way. For now, we are still writing articles and classifieds to get things going.
