ScreenFlow 3.0 Review
It has some very interesting and new features. For example under the files drop down you now have a New Empty Document function that opens a new screenflow document Main Window.
Remember how you use to have to record something to open a new document? Well the New Empty Document selection means you don’t have to do that any more.
When you load in a video into the channel below the timeline you can right click the channel and select to separate the audio and it automatically sends the audio to new channel below.
Call Out Properties
In the Call Out Properties tab of your palette you can now select different regions on your screen with a paint brush tool, blur the content, add shadows, and create a default style.
In the new annotations tab, you can draw circles, squares, lines and arrows on your video and adjust the size, color, postion and thickness. You can also define annotation styles.
You can add a timeline from the Preferences window, set a default height, set default duration of still images and use SMPTE timecode.
You can also reorder tracks, resize them, delete them, insert space and set your duration of your transitions from the inspector window.
You can now preview video or audio in you media library.
You can also resize the library items.
You can view audio waveforms and clipped audio peaks in the timeline and edit accordingly.
You can smooth audio levels, remove background noise and convert text to synthesized speech…Not bad!
You can customize you export presets and see the time remaining in exports.
You can export to iPad with an iPad preset. 3.0 will export to vimeo and YouTube.
It has 720 and 1080 support for YouTube Publishing.
Video Canvas and Lion OS
3.0 also has some canvas improvements that let you move video clips around, set the position for an object by entering the coordinates into the inspector and change the background color of your canvas.
3.0 also is compatible with Lion OS with features like Autosave,Resume,Versions and full screen mode.
